Spiced speculoos biscuits
Ingredients
- 200 g flour 630 spelt flour or 405 or 550 wheat flour
- 40 g sugar
- 40 g brown sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 pinch of salt
- a little lemon zest
- 1-2 tsp speculoos spice
- 100 g butter
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp honey
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees top/bottom heat.
- To make these delicious speculoos biscuits, place all the ingredients in a large bowl and knead the dough until everything has combined and a smooth dough has formed.
- Roll out the dough on a floured work surface with a rolling pin and stamp the dough with biscuit stamps. Run the angled pallet under the dough to loosen the dough from the work surface and cut out the biscuits with a wavy circle cutter and place on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
- Bake the speculaas biscuits at 180 degrees top/bottom heat for approx. 8-10 minutes.
- The biscuits are done when they are golden brown at the bottom.
- Leave the speculoos to cool and store in biscuit tins.
